Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

I just got back from a surprise mini-moon to Block Island which was beautifully and lovingly orchestrated by none other than the Tall One.

It took us exactly 12 years to get there..I kid you not...

When we were first dating, he had planned a fabulous trip to Block Island. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a few plans of her own...

and Hurricane Floyd was his name...

Determined and ticked off at Mother Nature, he drove us through the blackest of nights to Vermont. To our surprise, Lake Champlain had giant waves..

Soo...

He rowed us through the night, no light to be found, and thankfully we made it safely to shore. We hiked through the pines and luckily came upon the cabin.

The chimney was covered with a piece of slate, so someone(hmm) had to go up and remove it.

Without hesitation and perhaps delirium, I scurried up the moss laden roof, wind blowing, rain pelting and Shazam....we had heat.

We often joke about that moment...

He says that was the moment he knew he would marry me...

I say...what if we had gone to Block Island and laid on the sand, under the sun in the easy breezy salt air...would we still have been married?

So after 12 years (10 married)...I think it was appropriate that we headed to Block...

I definitely think we were due for an easy, breezy getaway!
