Scrub a Dub Dub...

Miss Julia & the Marantzs seem to have lavender on the brain for next weeks shoot..
I can completely understand as I have been trying to grow our side door pathway with it over the past 7 years.

Little did I know that when I picked up the Monster at Terra Firma Farm camp that Farmer Bri would have a little lavender surprise waiting for me!

Farmer Bri has come up with a new line of handmade soaps that are now available at their farm stand and at local farmers markets.
Those of us who are lucky enough to know this lovely lady, know that she is one of the strongest women both inside and out.
She absolutely and positively inspires me...
she is the REAL superwoman.
She runs a farm with her amazing husband, raises two beautiful children, educates about a zillion kids at summer and after-school programs and now...
makes soap...
So when she asked me if I would create a new logo design for her soap line...
well..
I felt deeply honored.
Check it out...you almost don't want to use them as they are so beautiful!!
This one just so happens to be a lavender scrub....it smells delicious!
I know that I will definitely be picking some more up...
some to display and some to use..

Deep deep gratitude to Farmer Bri for the amazing opportunity as well as being the BEST co-parent that a Mom could ever ask for!!

Happy Weekend!!!!!

Image found via weheartit

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

Our Cherry Tree has finally blossomed and even though it has a short shelf life, soon it's petals will be falling like a beautiful Spring snow shower.

Having just wrapped up one glittery golden Save the Date for Ashly & Scott...
I am now just putting the finishing touches on my favorite Virginians, Tami & James, rustic wedding invitation suite!

But a girl has to stop sometime...
and I think just a little cleaning under my favorite Lilac bushes will do the trick!

Be Safe, Breathe in the Sweet Spring Air and Have a Great Weekend!!

How's the Weather Up There?

 Image via Giraffe Manor

Can you imagine being so tall that you could almost reach the sky?
Giraffes...swifter than you think, mysteriously quiet and lashes that only women dream of...
I am the luckiest girl in the world to have parents who absolutely positively believe in the adventure. Not only have they taken me to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo so that I may feed them by hand but to the African plains so that I may watch them roam freely...
Unfortunately right now, we can't quite make it over to Giraffe Manor in Africa, so instead the Monster and I decided to take our own little adventure to the Roger Williams Zoo in R.I.
The zoo has just started up a program (merely 2 weeks old)allowing visitors to feed these beauties by hand.
Now it's no $3.00 cracker like at the Cheyenne Zoo
but
sometimes isn't it simply about the adventure, experiencing something new which therefore could possibly change your life?
I think so...
It already has changed mine..

Power of Love...

This animated art piece may just be for the Melissa new Spring shoe line but for me it's purely magical. If you are lucky enough to know an animator (I may be purely biased as my brother is one) than you would know that they are most creative creatives around. Who else would create an entire art piece out of post it notes and then have it come alive.

This one's for you my little brother..Happy Birthday on the last leg of your 30's...
Thank you for always inspiring me, making me laugh and for being courageous enough to live your dreams!

What's for Dinner?

You've spent weeks planning and designing the table..
but
what's for Easter dinner?

The Tall One and I would LOVE to have lamb
but
The Monster is a ham fan..

I'm not sure if you have noticed but the folks over at Williams-Sonoma have certainly kicked it up a notch!
I am not sure who is responsible for their marketing but I have to say they are absolute geniuses..

I probably get a zillion copies of their catalog and I tend to just throw them in the recycling pile
but
all it took was one read and I became hooked..
The catch?
They have added recipes to go with their products!

Easter is no exception and I really can't decide which one to try!

Leg of Lamb with Garlic Butter
Eoasted Asparagus and Morels with Shallot Butter
Roasted Potatoes with Sea Salt
Italian Almond Tart

Rack of Lamb with Mint Sauce
Beet Salad with Chevre and Walnuts
Roasted Asparagus with Lemon
Cream Cheese Pound Cake with Lime Glaze

Garlic and Rosemary Roasted Leg of Lamb
Chilled Potato Leek Soup with Fennel and Watercress
Potatoes with Olives and Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Cold Lemon Souffle

Roasted Ham with Creole Glaze
Potatoes Lyonnaise
Collard Greens with Benne Seeds and Chili Oil
Cafe Brulot Custard

They also have  a Dairy Free Dinner, a Vegetarian Dinner and a Mediterranean Dinner.

So...
What are you having for Dinner?

The Incredible Edible Egg...

Image via Dreamy Whites

This past Saturday, I woke up in a panic.....
How, I thought...How did I become "THAT MOM"?
Where, when and how did I become the Mom that completely forgot about her absolute favorite holiday... Easter??

So on Monday morning, I flung the Monster on the Yellow Bus and quickly dashed off to our local Target to pick up all things chocolatety and jellified!
I practically had to fight off a couple of mothers with a stick for
a coveted bag of Hershey's eggs..

Quick question...
Why are Mothers bringing their children to the Easter aisle to pick up candy?
I will never understand this...

I am hoping that my child will be just like my dear friend Heidi's son, who lives in Hawaii and still in his 20's asks her to send him an Easter basket...
Magic is oh so important..no matter what age!

Anyhoo...This year the Monster and I are going to try some of the "scientific" ways of dying eggs...
I always LOVE a good tea stain!!
Found via Craftster

Naturally dyed eggs from Two Men and a Little Farm...
Check out their fabulous chart below!

Better Homes & Gardens have also hopped on the Natural Dyed Train as well...

And..
From my all time favorite blog...
A mixture of grape juice and vinegar left overnight..

So this Good Friday, since the Monster is not in school...
We will be dying eggs and Eastering this house up..
We don't want that Bunny to think we forgot all about him!

What are your favorite Easter traditions?
