A touch of Audrey.....

Rarely do I ever peruse the women's side of Boden....
Sadly, this Mom is always checking out the Mini side for the Monster.

So..when I got this little ole email from them...
I decided..what the heck..why not check it out..

What I found was.....
a little Audrey, a little vintage and a whole lot of ladylike...

I am loving this little Golden cocktail number called the Audrey Dress (how perfect!)which just so happens to be on SALE (only until today, so hurry!)

But If you're not a Golden Girl, they offer it in a fab classic navy!

Now if only I could figure out that amazing pony, I would be good to go this holiday season!!

Now we are 1!!

Image found via favim/modified by Chocolate Creative Design

One little candle, placed on the cake...
One first birthday wish to make!

I can hardly believe it!!
Glitter, Glue and Fireflies is officially 1 today!!

Such a wonderful year full of projects, therapy and a few letters thrown in here or there.

A HUGE thanks to all of our fans, readers & friends...
without you and your support..
this little ole blog wouldn't be much fun!

But we have just gotten our feet wet...
So many new ideas to come..
It's time to mix it up a bit and I would love YOUR creative input!

Should we still continue our quest for the perfect alphabet?
Should the Dueling Designers put down their mouses?
Is a weekly dose of Chocolate Therapy actually helping?

For those of you who are a bit shy commenting...
Please Please email me at

with some creative wisdom!

There are so many new creative adventures to be had
just around the corner..waiting to be discovered!

Cheers everyone & today is definitely a chocolate cake kinda day!!

a little glitter to start your week......

 It's time......
Time to creep up to the freezing cold attic and pray that the stockings are intact with no hint of any little critter.

Even though I am a homemade stocking girl at heart...
I am seriously loving these glittery numbers...
I just hope they are big enough to hold all of Santa's loot!

a little glitter to start the week....

Giving the gift of scent is a very hard and tricky thing to do...There is nothing worse than getting something that is horribly smelling (Trust me, the Monster gave me a perfume one year that works just like Ipecac but in scent form).

But hold your horses friends...this is by far one of the best gifts that I have EVER received!
The Capri Blue candle in Volcano from Anthropologie.
Slightly sweet but full of tropical fruits, sugared oranges, lemons and limes. Personally...It's like Hawaii in a jar...
A huge thanks to Miss Heidi who has now made ALL the Wessons completely obsessed with this fabulous candle!!

A perfect hostess gift for these upcoming holidays!!

Happy Weekend!!!!!

Image created by Ryan Doco Connors

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

Brrr...the weather has finally turned and we are getting a glimpse of a very very long winter ahead.

However...Today is a very special day...
I have been invited by one of my sweet as pie brides, Miss Eleanor, to ooooh and ahhh as she finds her perfect gown.
Now I don't have a sister...but this cute as a button bride is surely becoming it and I am deeply flattered and honored that she has included me in such a momentous day!

It reminds me of how much I miss being a part of the WHOLE process...I LOVE creating the paper but the addition to styling an event allows me to see it all come together and perhaps get a glimpse of the beautiful bride on the big day..

So I am super deliciously excited to not only create the paper but style Eleanor & Matt's wedding as well. Styling has always been a part of Chocolate Creative Design's repertoire...but as the business (and myself) morphs and grows, I have decided to embrace and joyfully expand that area of creativity!

So today is dress up girlie day....
I get to hang with the lovely girls at The White Dress at the Shore
(one of the best bridal shops in the Northeast)
glamorously surrounded by glitter and tulle..

Then I will hop skip and jump over to Miss Jennie Fresa's studio
(The only person I trust to paint my face)
and pick up some very much needed products(I am OBSESSED)
from her beauty/makeup line.
Miss Jennie's studio has just gotten a fabulous makeover along with a new yummy site where I will be able to order her products online!

Now I LOVE my yoga pants (sad but true), plastic dinosaurs, praying mantises and grass stained knees but
there is something about pretty dresses and magical makeup that does a soul good!

So thank you Miss Eleanor...
it's amazing how a simple gesture can truly feed the heart!

Happy Weekend!!!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

With only 3 days of school this week, 2 of my 3 boys and I decided to go adventuring. Going to our beloved Island without Mommy having to work on a 65 degree November day was nothing short of perfection.
We strapped on our boots and headed out to the marsh where  treasure can ALWAYS be found as Pirates are very forgetful people.

We found many things, skulls, giant crab shells, boat seats, tires, buoys, a log in the shape of a J (just for Daddy)and many many horseshoe crabs.
But we didn't find what we were hoping to find...

You see, a few weeks past, The Sawin brothers, myself and the Monster went on a similar excursion....

What was found that day seemed to be
the greatest treasure of all..
(I know this because there were a few grumblings and sad pouty faces on WHO actually found it)
No it's not the metal can or the buoy....
Yup..you guessed it...
The good ole American Flag!

In their eyes it was right on par with finding real Pirate's gold..

As an adult, I think I have become desensitized to such symbols as the American Flag..
Sad I know, but true.

But maybe as adults, it's not about the symbols but the actual reality we live in...
Maybe...instead of a symbol...it's really about this image...

It's about boys being able to be boys.
For the freedom to simply run around a marsh,
the imagination to be whatever they want to be and
the courage to really be themselves...
So today, I thank all of our Veterans, past, present and future,  (including my Opa)
for keeping us safe, fighting for our freedom and most importantly..
Keeping the American dream alive in all of us,
especially and most importantly...
for our little Monsters..

Happy Weekend!!!!!

Wreath available at West Elm

Happy Weekend Everyone!!

Well, this little chickadee definitely has feathers on the brain...
This weekend, I'll be putting together a farm worthy Save the Date for the sweetest of couples, Eleanor and Matthew!
I have crazily convinced them to use a smorgasbord of different materials and textures...
which only means...
a whole lot of cutting, sewing and hot glueing!!
Yeehaw I say..
Bring it on!!

Glad to hear that most of the state is back up and running with heat water and electricity!!

Just thinking about Irene and being without water or electricity for 5 days send me shivers...

Fuzzy wuzzy was warm...

Bananas sign by William Dohman on Etsy

I LOVE Rachel Zoe.......Her show, her style and her passion for fashion sincerely makes me the happiest gal in the land!
One thing we share in common (besides vintage and bohemian chic)...
FUR!
Yes, you heard me correctly....fur. How positively un-p.c. is that!
Well, I can thank my Mom who allowed me (at the earliest of ages) to be enveloped by her Beaver fur coat for years.
Thankfully, I cannot afford the real deal so all those little creatures will be safe and sound...
(although I am getting a bit tired and frustrated with that wood chuck who is tearing up our property and the 200+ year old stone walls)

They have made outstanding progress in the world of faux fur, though it's not as scrumptiousit will do just fine for me.

Because...

I LOVE to wear it on my toes....

Let's not forget for my iphone and wallet....

Just when I wasn't looking...( isn't that how it always is, when you find the love of your life)
I think I found another piece to add to my collection...

Be still my heart....

I love you Zara!!

The only piece missing...
a Monsterette wearing exactly this..

C'mon Lil Hoot...
It was the twins birthday yesterday...
(best post EVER written!!)
don't you think they need some fabulous fur?
