Take me Back to Ole Virginia......

Image by Ryan Ray via Southern Weddings Magazine

Every time that Chocolate Creative Design lands itself on blogs like Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks or Ruffled
we do an Elaine-style dance of joy...

It is such an honor to be recognized and
I am deeply humbled
when we do.
BUT..
If you have been following along with me on this crazy blog...
then you might just know that I am a magazineophile...

It started with my first copy of Seventeen at 14, followed with me through boarding school and college (lugging them all with me), pushed me into the City where I worked at Mirabella and now they surround me in my house: up in the attic, down in the basement and in little piles of every room
(the act of piling was a gift from my Mom).

In fact....
I have so many magazines that I bet I could fill an entire room and still be able to create furniture and accessories out of them.

So when a little Southern birdie told me that
Chocolate Creative Design would actually be in one...
well....
that's no dance..
That's a PARTY!!!

AND

It's not just ANY magazine either...
It just so happens to be the 5th issue of
Southern Weddings Magazine!!

AND

If you must know...
The Tall One and I have Southern blood running through our veins as BOTH our families originated in Virginia where we both went to college and then later lived and worked.
(all without knowing one another)

SOOOO..

It was definitely kismet when the loveliest of couples,
Tami and James,
asked me to design their paper for their Leesburg, Virginia wedding.

AND

by the looks of their team...
Photography: Adam Barnes Photography
Venue: Thomas Birkby House
Day of Coordinator: Kelley Truxel of Event Studio
Flowers: Holly Heider Chapple
Wedding Cake: Maggie Austin Cakes
Caterer: Windows Catering
Makeup Artist: Jan Scott
Hair Stylist: Hair by Jewels
Cigar Rollers: Cortez Cigars
Bride: Jim Helm, Veil Lady, Badgley Mischka
Groomsmen: J.Crew, CCA Designs
Bridesmaids: Sarah Seven

it was the dreamiest of days...

Now if it couldn't get ANY better...

My beautiful college roommate, Miss Rachel who owns
(yes..the original crepe cake maker)
landed herself in the same issue just a few pages apart from me...
Who would have thunk that two crazy girls from little ol' Roanoke College would be in the same magazine at the same time....

Now that MY friends...takes the cake!!

However..

what I am about to say may go against the magazine gods...

This is by far THE best wedding magazine I have EVER seen..

In fact...

Dare I say...
I might just have to box up my Marthas and start ordering Southern Weddings Magazine's back issues...

So lovely brides...
Pop on over to Southern Weddings Magazine and order up some.
You WILL not be disappointed as EVERY page is designed with the most GORGEOUS weddings, ideas and details!!

HUGE  HUGE hugs to Tami and James..
Thank you sooo much for the wonderful opportunity..
As soon as I get more images, I can show the world just how wonderfully trusting you both are!!

  6. When I read the article (from the magazine in your studio) I just assumed this was one of many and typical coverage of your talents! Yes, it is lovely, but EVERYTHING about your work and on your display is phenomenal!!!!
