a little glitter to start your week....

This post is a LONG time coming...
But really...
there is no expiration date when it comes to ALL things glitter!

So let's get on with the SHOW...
so to speak...

This lovely lady that I know..
ALWAYS thinks BIG!
Never small, never medicore..
ALWAYS over the top..
In fact..
I like to think of her as P.T. Barnum..
She is the Ringmaster..
and you never know what amazing thing she has in store for you...

She has the ability to gather the most creative individuals and then
produce the "Greatest Show" on Earth!

She is..
Miss Amy Graver of Elements Design!

I have been lucky enough to work side by side with her on many many projects...
BUT
I think by far her favorite project is...
The Graver Family New Years Card...
I absolutely love that she puts just as much heart and soul into her personal projects as she does for her Elements clients..

So this Ringmaster wrangled up quite the list of performers for her show..
Jennie Fresa for some glittery beauty...
Anna Sawin for some camera magic..
and
myself for literally creating the "Big Top"...

When it comes to glitter my friends...
how can a girl say no...

It all began with a "secret" Pinterest board...

Shower Curtain: Anthropologie  Headphones: Amazon  Champagne Tower: Martha Stewart
Glitter Eye:Chrisspy Makeup   Glitter Boots: Charlotte Russe
Balloon Image: Green Wedding Shoes
Board: Chocolate Creative Design

Then..
the "tent" was raised..
in the Chocolate Creative Design studio...

Miss Jennie Fresa worked her glittery magic...
Dress: Miss Me     Gold Necklace: Express
Crystal necklace: Target  Belt: H & M   Earrings: Target

The champagne began to flow..

Glasses: Arrow Party Rental   Balloons, Tinsel: iparty
Step Stool: Home Depot   Sequin Fabric: Joann
Bracelet: Express   Ring: Target

Tinsel and glitter filled the air!
Sequin Top: Target   Skirt: Childrens Place
Vest and Shoes; Miss A's own

The music began to play...

and
Voila!!

Miss Anna Sawin captured the magic...

While the Ringmaster herself...

designed THE most fabulous AND of course BIGGEST (8.5 x 11) New Years Card to date...
Let's not forget that it came complete with it's own confetti!

So thanks yet again to that AMAZING Ringmaster, Miss Amy Graver...
for allowing us all to be a part of your MOST creative, MOST fun and MOST glittery traveling circus!

Huge thanks to Allison Keck of Arrow Party Rental for the FABULOUS champagne coupes!

Fabulous & Creative Wreaths.... Part Trois

You know it's the Holidays when wreaths begin to magically pop up on peoples doors...

I am obsessed with a good wreath and the one in the picture above has to be one of my ALL time favorites...
It was created by the flower whisperer herself, Miss Yumiko of Hana Floral Design, for a Winter Wedding Shoot that I designed back in 2009.

So.. for Part Trois of the Fabulous and Creative Wreath roundup, I decided to go in the direction of "found items".
These are wreaths that can be made with ANY object that is found either natural or man-made..

 The Sea

Living by the sea, we have boxes, bags and jars and filled to the brim with shells...
Unfortunately on the Connecticut Coastline, there is a lack of the exotics...
What we are left with are mussels, jingles, clams, oysters and the famous Stonington scallop...
But I think you might agree..
That they can be just as lovely too...

The Pinecone

Pinecones are a plenty here in the Northeast...
You can't walk anywhere without stepping on one..
I am amazed at just how many different kinds there are..
Whether they are painted, gilded, glittered or au natural..
They certainly stir up Holiday spirit...

The Herb

I just brought in my rosemary plant in hopes that I may use her all winter long for cooking...
But she would look and smell just as lovely as a simple wreath...
How about a eucalyptus wreath in the bathroom?!

The Junk Drawer & The Kitchen

You are sure to have these items around...
Random tacks, apples, spent Christmas bulbs, peppermint candies from your purse and the credit cards that need to be snipped...
They look much prettier as a wreath than in that dreaded messy junk drawer...

This is a little story about a Glittery Gorgeous Couple, a Thoughtful and Loving Mother and a Crazy Artist.

Here is the Glittery Gorgeous Couple..
who got married on a magical Island on 9/17/11
and had asked a crazy artist...
To create a few items for their Big Day...

Fast forward to 3/19/12....
The Crazy Artist received an email from the Bride's very Thoughtful and Loving Mother to commission a surprise 1st Anniversary Christmas ornament.

The artist jumped for joy because she thought it was a wonderful idea and she always LOVES a good challenge...

Well...challenge it was...
The artist took the entire Spring and Summer to think...
and think...and think..
She thought so much that I believe smoke came out of her ears...

Finally...
she sketched something out and sent it to the very Thoughtful and Loving Mother...

The Crazy Artist glued and glittered to her hearts content and last Wednesday she carefully wrapped it up, sent it to the very Thoughtful and Loving Mother who was going to surprise the Glittery Gorgeous Couple this past Saturday.

This is what the Glittery Gorgeous Couple found when they opened the glittery box...
They found their magical Island...
The tree where they got married..
and the tent where they danced the night away...

But wait...
there's more...
because they don't call her a Crazy Artist for nothing...
 It lights up!!!

The Crazy Artist is ever so grateful and thankful to the very Thoughtful and Loving Mother for trusting her and giving her the most wonderful of creative challenges.

The Crazy Artist is also so wonderfully happy that not only did she become part of the Glittery Gorgeous Couples Big Day but now she gets to be a part of the their future Christmases...

Stay Tuned..
The story is not over yet...
Check back at 1:00 today for a glittery surprise!!

Huge shout-out to Miss Anna Sawin who has been following the Glittery Gorgeous Couple since the beginning and who beautifully captured every step of their way on film..

Amber Waves of Grain....

Wheat.....
I have it on the brain..
Maybe it's because it reminds me of the sparkliest couple I know, Erin and Dan, who just so happen to be celebrating their 2 year anniversary this weekend...

Wheat was a HUGE inspiration in the design of their Save the Date, Invitation, and Decor at their wedding..

and since then...
I have seen it popping up everywhere!!

So this year...
I think I will  need to add it to my Fall decor...

and I am VERY determined this weekend to make a wreath for our door..

Obviously Coco was inspired as she had THE most fabulous wheat table in her Paris apartment...
Which in turn inspired the Chanel team to create this Wheat Brooch for their 2010 jewelry line...

Let's not forget Candace Bushnell's superdelicious wheat sconces in her Manhattan apartment and in the March 2010 issue of

 So maybe..
just maybe..
a few items might inspire you too...
