Happy Weekend Everyone!!!!!

Things are hustling & bustling here in the Wesson household....

I see rods, reels, millions & trillions of lures, eel buckets, waterproof socks, all weather gear and a few headlamps

making there way through the living room and onto the patio.

Why all the hub-bub you ask??

Well, it's the Annual Wesson Mens fishing tournament at the Island this weekend!!

Maybe this year a Wesson could actually bring home the trophy...

Seems like it's only been friends that have grabbed that beauty.

Seriously folks..this trophy is no laughing matter..

Check it out!

My odds are on the Monster who will be using MY rod & reel...

As competitive as these boys may be...it's really about having fun, staying up all hours and laughing with and at one another!

Many Many Thanks to all of you who crossed your fingers, did a dance or sang a song for Jillian & Dan on their wedding day. From the looks of the images on Facebook...There seemed to be no rain or umbrellas in site. There was a bit of mud, left over from the insane amount of flooding, but that didn't stop that fabulous bride to pull on some Wellies & kick it up on the dance floor.

Thank goodness, the flooding subsided...that way the menus arrived just in the nick of time!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

As we head into the beginning of September and supposedly leave the "dog days of summer" behind...I greatly beg to differ.....

NOW are the Dog Days....

He has been patiently waiting for 3 months for the beaches to clear and family to depart. He can now jump off the dock...splash at the little beach and chase critters through the hayfields.

He can take back his Island,romp and roll through seaweed and go on expeditions with his little brother, The Monster.

I have to ask a big favor from all of you reading...

That fabulous, sweet as pie couple, Jillian & Dan are getting married tomorrow and I need your help..

They have had a rough month, carpenter ants, a missed bachelorette party due to Irene, a very very sick baby who was in the hospital and now flooding...

If you could, please please through thought or even interpretive dance...do a little non rain dance for them.

They are so deserving, have been the most amazing clients and really really need a little more sunshine in their lives...

Let Your Imagination Grow...3 in the Family..part 2

Remember that absolutely adorable couple that literally allowed me to think "outside the box" for their save the dates?? Well...last week there was a lot of cutting, pasting, printing, stuffing and tying to get their invitations out the door and into their guests mailboxes lickity split!

Sooo..We began with three different prints for their envelope liners..Why you say? Well there just so happens to be 3 in their family and thanks to Facebook I get to see their little peanut grow up right before my eyes!

I dare say this is the hard part...Because everything is made in the studio and because I am blessed with such great clients..letting go and finishing the project makes me elated and yet makes me sad at the same time!

On 9.10.11, I can guarantee that I will be thinking of this beautiful couple all day,  praying for sunny weather and wishing them the most wonderful of wonderful life together!

Huge hugs to Jillian & Dan and Baby R for trusting in me, letting me be as creative as I can possibly be, allowing my imagination to grow and honestly just being the coolest couples around!


I can't forget Miss Suzanna March who sent these lovelies my way..

And of course to the Fab Miss Heidi H who is the best envelope sealer around!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!

Well, it's already that time of the year....Clean up weekend on the Island.. The Monster and the Tall One, together with family, will be hacking away at Bittersweet vines, raking leaves and making it look picture perfect for the on-coming wedding season...

I can guarantee that the Tall One will be sneaking off to cast a few in hopes to catch the "Big One".

I, myself, will be catching up on some fabulous projects both for new clients and the blog.

This past week, has been one the most exciting yet...

Let your imagination grow..3 in the Family...

Jillian & Dan

Normally, I like to post my Let Your Imagination Grow feature on Fridays..but this my friends, could not wait until then....

With the help & support of friends, colleagues and clients, Chocolate Creative Design has begun to flourish and grow. From these friends, colleagues and clients comes new clients that are not only the perfect match but extend the far reaches of the globe. One such client couple, The beautiful Jillian & Dan, came to me from the sweet as pie, Suzanna March, who had photographed them for their engagement shoot.

Harkening all the way from Pennsylvania, these two lovebirds had a wonderful story to tell...

As you can see from the above image, Jillian is 8 months pregnant with their now daughter, Remy.

That is one lucky little girl...the Monster keeps asking me when we'll have another wedding so that he can be there to watch..

So, now there is 3...hmmm..how does a designer subtly incorporate this new family of three...hmm..

They plan on having a fun, gorgeous and elegant wedding at their home in Pennsylvania..Jillian, a who has a deep love for Anthropologie and Terrain (my kinda girl!) and Dan, who just happens to be a very talented Woodworker (can you say handmade farm tables at their wedding?)make for the perfect recipe for Chocolate Creative Design.

What most clients don't realize is that when you let a designer do what they do best...you let their imaginations grow...

This is exactly what Jillian and Dan allowed me to do..and I truly can't thank them enough for trusting me and in the process..

So with my love of using the 5 senses, incorporating wood, bold prints and the number 3...away we went...

So without further adieu...

The lovely and super talented Miss Suzanna March sent me some gorgeous eye candy which allowed me to visualize exactly how Jillian & Dan caught a glimpse of their Save the Date for the first time...

Just a simple little box..

A colorful label, fun stamp and a custom logo that resembles a branding iron...

Fluffy whimsical wood curls...

3 different types of Anthropologie inspired fabrics

Gotta love their date...9.10.11,

especially if it's printed on wood grain embossed paper

Hand stamped wooden utensils..

I would have to say that my favorite part HAS to be the magnets on the back of each utensil...

This way..there is no way that fab card can get lost..just put it on your fridge!

A colorful napkin, wrapped in a wood grain embossed belly band, tied with twine and we are good to go!
