Happy Weekend!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

We Wessons are bringing out the candles, the balloons and a lovely little cake for a certain Grande Dame who turns 14 today...
She definitely doesn't look a day over 229...
And..
even though the old farmers down the street have nicknamed her the "house that can't hold paint"..
We love her all the more..
and
believe that she's the epitome of a classic beauty.
BUT
it's time my friends..
She's in need of a makeover...
What every teenage girl dreams of...
So my go-to design guru
(and sister from another mister)
Miss Heidi Heublein has been helping me do just that...

Having sent out Michaela & Mike's wedding invitation suite this week..
I am taking a much needed..
much anticipated..
long long vaca....
What pray tell shall I do with all this time...
I'll be..
Taking the Monster to THE City..
(the only city that forever holds my heart)
Catching up on some reading...
(both book and blog)
Getting some exercise with Mr. G...
Planning the Garden..
Writing up some delicious posts for this little ole blog..
Getting into the studio and START creating (for me)
and of course..
drag Miss Heublein into our Grande Dame
to
help make her
even
GRANDER!!

Be Safe, Get Outside and Have a Great Weekend!!

a little glitter to start your week....

Do you ever have those moments when you have FINALLY decided on which direction you want to go in when designing a room and then all it takes is one accessory to make sense of it all?

Well I did with this fabulously glorious Sailendra Pillow from Anthropologie...

For quite sometime, I have hemming and hawing about our guest room, or shall I say "Auntie Egg's Room"?

When the room was first built, the Tall One chose "October Sky" for the walls..which is a very very light peachy pink...
(personally I think he was hoping for that little baby girl to add to our brood). With the softest bed you can imagine and a shell chandelier (and the only t.v. in any of the bedrooms) it has often become my refuge or "woman cave". But sadly it has become the room of misfit furniture and therefore lacks no rhyme or reason...

Enlisting the help of my dear friend and stylist guru, Miss Heidi H, we started to pull images for what I like to call a Pink room for a Grownup-
Bohemian Rhapsody style.
It's not easy...as working with various shades of pinks, oranges and corals can definitely sway into the land of tiny princesses...

But with these images in mind, I know it can be done!!

or
do we go with some utterly fabulous grasscloth???

You know us Wasps don't bleed red...we bleed coral...

The possibilities are endless but luckily with my Anthropologie find and Miss Heidi's help we can whip up some gorgeousness in no time...

Stay Tuned...

Up at the Farm....

This morning, a couple chicks and I, Miss Jessie from Gourmet Galley and the fabulous Heidi H, got to head "up to the farm" on the most glorious of glorious spring days...

Yup..you heard me right..."up to the farm" as the farm,
Tyrone Farm, is "up" in Pomfret, Connecticut.

We were "up" doing a little site visit for our farm couple, Eleanor & Matt, whose wedding day is rapidly approaching...

So I have a little farm on the brain these days and found a few items to bring farm to the table...
(I think Miss Eleanor needs to add these lovelies to her registry)
1. Cow Chalkboard Place Card Holders at Williams-Sonoma
2. Milk Bottle Measuring Cups at Anthropologie
3. Farmhouse Platter at Terrain
4. Cow Bell at Terrain
5. Piglet Cutting Board at Terrain
6. Rooster series sauce Dishes at Lille Shop
7. Farm Anatomy Book at Terrain
8. Gate Sign at Terrain
9. Berry Boxes at Blank

Speaking of Farms.....
My favorite of all farms, Terra Firma, just made it into the
New York Times....
It couldn't be more deserving to the most amazing couple I know,
Bri & Ethan!

Miss Bri has been very very busy with her soap company,Faire Ivy and let me tell you...
 they are FABULOUS!
She just handed me a giant bag full of at least 12 different types of soaps...
which really comes in handy while scrubbing the Monster clean after a long day at the farm!

Holiday Gift Guide Day 6 Shoes by Heidi Heublein

I have openly admitted my obsession with shoes. To me, they are perfection.....you can never have enough and unless you are with child..they always fit!

There is another lovely lady who also shares my deep affection for shoes and you might recognize her as one the Housewives of Stonington. You need to look past the gobs of bronzer and peach lipstick to understand the many layers of
Miss Heidi Heublein!

One day, I plan to write a book about this amazing woman...her stories and her sense of humor can enthrall me for hours...often leaving my stomach muscles in pain for days..She is a true Renaissance woman and I honestly can't keep track of all the wonderful things that she has accomplished...She is a butcher, a baker a candlestick maker. Her sense of design and style is impeccable and her home is something that I have been strivng for, always welcoming, beautiful and comfortable..it's like the perfect pair of jeans. Most importantly...She is one of the most amazing Mom's I know! With a brood of four, her children are not only beautiful but wonderfully unique in their own personalities....

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Miss Heidi on designing a few weddings over the years..She is as crazy Type A as I, always gives 150% and is beyond passionate about design. Now if I could just get my butt in gear and finish the design, Miss Heidi has a new blog and Etsy store on it's way. This woman certainly never ever does anything halfway and I can tell that not only will it be hysterically funny but chock full of the most inspiring pieces and ideas you have ever seen.

I am truly one of the luckiest people to have her in my life....her thoughtfulness, kindness, loyalty and love for the monster is what inspires me and gets me through the day!!

So get ready for some fabulous picks by the Amazing Heidi Heublein!
