Easter may be one of my all time favorite holidays..

BUT..

It's the lucky four footed creature that has stolen my heart..

Hare, rabbit, bunny...

They come in many guises..

But they are essentially the same..

Furry, fuzzy, lovable critters..

I've had many as pets

and

luckily I can get my fix up at Terra Firma Farm...

BUT

it's this time of year we get to truly celebrate them...

I feel robbed, bamboozled and even hornswoggled...

We absolutely positively can't wait to start digging, planting and smelling like dirt..

Time to start Spring Shopping...

Time to finally shed those Winter layers..

Even though I know Mother Nature will simply disregard it..

in 2 short weeks..

it WILL be official..

SPRING!! 

After this utterly gruesome Winter..

I dare say I will be extremely grateful for this Spring..

Maybe that was her plan all along...

Sometimes there are those images that just sing to you...

When I received the new Anthropologie catalog in the mail yesterday..

my heart just went pitter-pat...

Right there on the front cover was an image that truly spoke to me...

Of course I want that fabulous skirt..

but

it is the story behind it that I find intriguing...

It is if they are telling MY story...
In fact..
I would consider this a self portrait of sorts..

as I see ALL the things that I wish to accomplish this Spring/Summer...

Plant some new flowering trees..

Have fun and be silly...
Go on a picnic...

Wear skirts and dresses EVERY day...

Redecorate our house..

and

Finally get rid of ALL our junk!

In the Northeast on the Shoreline, it's easy to spot the early signs of Spring.

The air gets warmer and sweeter, the birds start chirping, the Peepers put on their concerts as the sun sets and pastel hues magically pop out of the ground and paint the once drab landscape.

First the dainty purple crocuses emerge

But for all those mothers of boys....

Spring=Freedom

Free to walk through your home without stepping on Legos.

Free to NOT pick up dirty socks and various articles of clothing such as hats, gloves, mittens, jackets and very very wet boots.

Free to use your counter tops..

(as the Matchbox car parade has been taken outside)

 Free of any electronic noises such as wii, DS or T.V.

Because for them...

it's time to go outside, explore the world and find...

Branching Out....

I have become completely obsessed with this image shot by Erica George Dines for Southern Living!! 

Since I started hearing the Peepers last night, It's time to bring a little Spring inside our home.

We are lucky enough to have a pleathera of flowering trees on our property such as Apple, Pear, Magnolia and Forsythia, which with a simple pair of clippers, bleach, a rubber mallet and a fabulous vase...

you can have a gorgeous floral display that lasts for weeks!!

I have the table and now I am on the hunt for those AMAZING sea glass hued vases!

My absolute favorite thing to do is...

(which has delighted the Monster since he was little)

is to carefully place bird's nests filled with tiny faux eggs between the branches...

A few butterflies, birds and bees complete the look and become hidden behind flowers as they begin to bloom, depending on where they are placed..

I dare say...

I have found a few rubber snakes and rubber spiders

hidden amongst the flora and fauna...

But 

I quickly catch my breath and realize that this is purely a collaborative work of art that The Monster and I are enjoying, learning from and constantly ever-evolving...

If you haven't figured it out by now, then you must know that I am deeply enamored (or possibly in love) with Anna Bond of Rifle Design. Now I don't know this lovely lady....yet...But I can tell you that since missing her at the National Stationery Show last year, as Miss Amy Graver and I thought it clever to go sans map, this year I will certainly not let that happen again!!

Always in decorating mode, I stumbled upon these beautiful fabrics and wallpapers by Nina Campbell for Osborne & Little.  I couldn't quite figure out why I was soooo enthralled by them. 

Then it hit me...hard....

They were completely Anna Bondish! I can't even begin to tell you how much it makes me swoon when she paints with black...

So in honor of Miss Bond....

Happy Weekend Everyone!!

WOW..What a week!! 
I have been spending quite a bit of time over at the studio putting the finishing touches on Jillian & Dan's Save the Dates. I am beyond thrilled that as of today, each and every one is traveling via plane, train or automobile to it's appropriate destination.


A huge THANKS to the Lovely Miss Suzanna March for introducing us, but I am actually even more excited to see the images that she takes so that I can share them with all of you!!


Speaking of Miss Suzanna March...I am deeply grateful for her blog love that she bestowed on me this past week...

Breathing a sigh of relief....and crossing many things off on my to do list...it's time for a mini day of R & R..to celebrate a very special day with the most special ladies of all..
