Happy Weekend!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

Mid January...
The holiday decorations have been packed into boxes and carefully placed into the attic for another year.
The ground becomes frozen, cold and uncomfortable to the foot.
The landscape becomes brown, bare and void of color.
We catch up on sleep from the exhaustion of a month of merriment.
Full of hope and energy, we try to honor our New Year's resolutions.
 We begin again.

There is an eerie silence to it..
Contemplative..
Introspective...
Perhaps a bit of Melancholy?

I disappeared this week from my beloved blog...
I needed to get my chickens in a row...
Get a head start on some wonderfully fun and creative projects that will keep me busy through the Spring..

But I am here..
Ready to begin again....

The Tall One received a rather fabulous gift this year..
a GoPro...
Meant for his adventures with the Monster via bike, boat or
foot...
It was only fitting that it's first use was of his boys in the first snow of a brand NEW year..

It's not perfect or fabulously edited..
It's real...
So for the Monster's school blog..
I put together a little something...
Something that may bring a little joy to your day...
Something that may make you feel young again...
Something that may make you realize how wonderfully free we all are..

Happy Weekend!!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

Miss Ice Cube decided to join the party after all!!
Thankfully just in time as the weather took a turn this morning and all my ladies woke up with a glittery white coat and finally said goodbye..

 Baseball season ended last evening...
and
I am so proud of the Monster who has turned into quite the baseball player!
Who knew that all those years of rock throwing would morph my magical little beast into a stellar pitcher!!
BUT
Baseball fever is NOT over..
I do happen to have a house full of Red Sox fans (much to my chagrin) and the Tall One is sporting quite the beard proving his allegiance!!

Days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder..
and I am feverishly trying to wrap up a rather delicious Save the Date...
BUT
I will definitely find the time to celebrate..

someones 5th month birthday starting tomorrow..

Time is sure flying fast my friends...
We still need to grab a bit of Fall before it disappears..
Like
Clyde's Cider Donuts
Jumping in leaf piles
Decorating pumpkins
Long walks on the beach
and
Admiring Mother Nature's last colorful hurrah before a long winter's sleep..

Be Safe, Pick a Pumpkin and Have a Great Weekend!!

A new Mister...from another Sister..

Mr. G, 4 Months
September 26, 2013

The heart wants what the heart wants..
LOVE is a tricky thing...
It's scary...
It's unpredictable..
Sometimes we feel as though we are not ready for it..
Sometimes we don't think we are deserving of it..
BUT..
LOVE is all you need...
LOVE makes the world go round..
LOVE is life...
and
most importantly..
LOVE can heal...
Not 100%
BUT
just enough...

So I introduce to you..
with the greatest of pleasure..
Our newest family member,
my youngest of 4 sons..
the new LOVE of my life..
Mr. G!

Yes..that is a puppy in a bow tie..
but he is honoring his Southern heritage..
and since brothers share EVERYTHING..
I deemed it only appropriate that he should be wearing the
Monster's Easter gift from the Fabulous duo at Forage..
Since they are TRUE dog lovers..
I felt that they may approve...
plus it may even inspire them..
Forage dog collars anyone???

Apparently..
all it took was a photo to get my family on board...
Were we ready?
Probably not...
BUT
is one ever ready for a baby?

Luckily for us..
The Ladies over at The Simon Foundation in Bloomfield, Connecticut
held our future in their hands..
It took just one introduction..
one glance
one lick
one wag of a tail
and Mr. G became a true blue Wesson on
August 23, 2013.
Mr. G, 3 Months
August 23, 2013

As you can see from this image...
someone has already grown leaps and bounds..
In fact...
Someone gained 7.8 lbs in one month!!

There have definitely been some challenges..
What new baby doesn't bring them?!
BUT
thankfully Joanne Lincoln from The Simon Foundation
helped us tremendously and
we seem to be not only back on track
BUT
very fluent in dog speak...

With every negative comes a positive...
and
Mr. G has brought us this..
The ability to belly laugh again..
A very clean kitchen floor..
A sparring partner for Mr. C...
Snuggling..
Heartfelt licks..
What grass feels like for the first time..
Seeing the tiny moths that delicately leap through the grass..
Smelling and feeling the sea for the first time..
Running so fast your ears flap..
Trust
Joy
and
LOVE

It is truly amazing to me..
how much one little boy can change forever
the heart of a family...

I am eternally grateful to
My husband for opening his heart and giving puppy love a second chance..
The Ladies at The Simon Foundation for supporting us and giving us the love of our lives..
and
MOST importantly..
The sister who gave me a new mister..
Ruby..

Mr. G was one out of 11 pups...
so if you are looking..
Ruby's babies are still available..

So get ready folks...
You'll be seeing this boy quite often...
He's got lots to say
and
possibly some grand adventures to share..

You guessed it..
I am now the proud parent of a teenager...

The fact that he is technically 91 makes it a little Benjamin Buttonish..
So...
without being too creepy..
I have decided that he is MY teenager...
And what a perfect one he is..

He doesn't talk back...
He still loves to snuggle...
He never gets embarrassed by his parents..
He is always happy to see us..
He never asks to take the car...
He never complains about our cooking..
He loves to go on family outings
He never breaks his curfew..

Now..
if my other two boys will be just like him..
Then the teen years will be an absolute breeze!

So tonight..
The Tall One has cooked an amazing steak dinner for us..
Luckily, all my boys are serious carnivores..
so this dinner will be gobbled up in no time..

Mr. H has asked for a new collar this year..
It is one of his favorite gifts to receive..
Who knew that the puppy who once bucked liked a bronco when we tried to put it on him...
would now...as a older gentleman, carry it around his mouth begging to have it put back on..

Finding collars for boys that are part American Staffordshire and part Wesson is quite tricky..

So..
Mr. H decided to put together a few of his new favorite collars for all of you...

I can only imagine that he has already been hitting up the Easter Bunny to bring a few more...
1. Kiss My Mutt "Nautical" & "Sea Anchor" at Pet Smart
2. Waterproof Collar at L.L. Bean
3. Mimi Green "Louie" & "Apple" Collars
6.Kiss My Mutt "Cape Cod" & "Barcelona Mar" at Pet Smart
7. Lands End Canvas Collar

Happy Birthday Mr. H!!
We love you so...
We are forever grateful each year that we have you in our lives!!
YOU will make 13 a lucky number!!
