Up at the Farm....

This morning, a couple chicks and I, Miss Jessie from Gourmet Galley and the fabulous Heidi H, got to head "up to the farm" on the most glorious of glorious spring days...

Yup..you heard me right..."up to the farm" as the farm,
Tyrone Farm, is "up" in Pomfret, Connecticut.

We were "up" doing a little site visit for our farm couple, Eleanor & Matt, whose wedding day is rapidly approaching...

So I have a little farm on the brain these days and found a few items to bring farm to the table...
(I think Miss Eleanor needs to add these lovelies to her registry)
1. Cow Chalkboard Place Card Holders at Williams-Sonoma
2. Milk Bottle Measuring Cups at Anthropologie
3. Farmhouse Platter at Terrain
4. Cow Bell at Terrain
5. Piglet Cutting Board at Terrain
6. Rooster series sauce Dishes at Lille Shop
7. Farm Anatomy Book at Terrain
8. Gate Sign at Terrain
9. Berry Boxes at Blank

Speaking of Farms.....
My favorite of all farms, Terra Firma, just made it into the
New York Times....
It couldn't be more deserving to the most amazing couple I know,
Bri & Ethan!

Miss Bri has been very very busy with her soap company,Faire Ivy and let me tell you...
 they are FABULOUS!
She just handed me a giant bag full of at least 12 different types of soaps...
which really comes in handy while scrubbing the Monster clean after a long day at the farm!

Glitter, Glue & Fireflies too....

Yesterday, I was sitting at my work table surrounded by my weapons of choice (Mr. X-Acto, Ms Rotary Cutter and the annoyingly clingy Mr. Super 77) when my little ole iPhone made its ding dong message sound. I arose, walked over to my computer and with a band-aided finger and a few fingers stuck together (just a few battle scars) I logged into my email account for the message.
What I saw was a tag on Facebook from the lovely Miss Anna Sawin.
Where this tag went to....
was the most glorious of glorious moments..
There they were...
my Amy & Tim...
on

It's literally killing me right now not to be able to write and talk about our adventure...
but...
I am amidst another adventure...
I am in the wiles of Maine..
standing on a rocky cragg overlooking the sea while smelling the pines..
Ok so my body isn't really there but my mind is and I am with the lovely Spring & Silas on their wedding day.
So..in a 1 1/2 weeks...I will share my story about Amy & Tim
who just so happen to be the LOVELIEST of all couples and who had the most AMAZING team of vendors whom they trusted with all their hearts..

So head on over to Style Me Pretty for some fabulous eye candy from Miss Anna Sawin & Buzz Media.
Some delectable sweet & sour treats from Gourmet Galley courtesy of the Rockstar Miss Jessie.
Gorgeous florals from the flower whisperer, Miss Yumiko at Hana Floral Design.
Pretty pretty maids all in a row by Jennie Fresa & W Salon.
Gorgeous tents filled with ikat splendor by Sperry Tents.
Last but not least...
The ever fabulous Miss Adrienne from Ruffles & Tweed who made magic happen..
You rocked it kid!!

Thank you Amy & Tim..
For letting us do what we love to do...

oh..p.s....I spy with my little eye a paper designer..
can you find her?

Holiday Gift Guide Day 4 Food by Anna Lathrop

I remember when I first started out designing and coordinating weddings....a mere 10 years ago...I know that people thought I was "green" or "too young"..( I have to laugh at that as I can't imagine ANYONE saying that I was too young now!!) Yet all it took was one chance meeting with a lovely young woman that changed everything for me. At the time, I was helping to coordinate events up at Stonington Vineyards and as I was doing my usual walk around, I noticed a young woman in the cook tent. She was speaking in a strong yet very warm and friendly voice, explaining to the staff that the event went perfectly, it was time to wrap things up and that she was heading home to her 1 month old baby..
1 month old baby?? Surely you must be joking?? Anyone with kids knows that being on your feet 8-10 hours after just having a baby is sheer murder!! But there she was...strong yet kind, determined yet thoughtful. That is when I realized that those people who decided we were "too young" or "too green" had no idea what they were talking about...oh yeah and the woman...she just happens to be Miss Anna Lathrop, the proud owner of Gourmet Galley Catering.

Years later and a little less "green", I have had the privilege of collaborating and working side by side with this fabulous lady. Her meetings all take place at a kitchen table which honestly explains everything. Home, Life and Family is important to her and she shares this with her clients. She is always one to jump at the chance to incorporate ANYTHING that has to do with the bride & groom. It can be as simple as re-inventing classic comfort foods or as complicated as getting Aunt Millie's Squash Soup perfect! She loves a good story and this reflects in her work. I deeply admire her patience, her sense of humor and her desire to put 100% into everything she does.

So friends take note..this lady knows what she's talking about..the Fabulous Miss Anna Lathrop!
